About Dr. Averill
Frank Averill, MD, is a highly regarded, award-winning, multi-boarded physician. He’s the medical director and founding physician of St. Francis Sleep, Allergy & Lung Institute in Clearwater, Florida. With over 30 years of experience in medicine, he’s taken quality care of his patients at his practice and local hospitals, while also working the forefront of medicine as an avid researcher. Dr. Averill earned board certifications in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, critical care, and sleep medicine.
Dr. Averill graduated from New York Medical College and then completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at world-renowned Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. He also completed specialty fellowship trainings in pulmonary, critical care, allergies & immunology at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
In addition, he’s an attorney and member of the Florida Bar with a Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University School of Law. Dr. Averill offers services for attorneys regarding expert witness and medical-legal consultations.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Averill has earned national awards and recognition for his excellence in care. His name has appeared on lists of “America’s Top Physicians,” “Best Physicians in the United States,” “Best Physicians in Florida,” and “Best Physicians in Tampa Bay.” His medical research and published articles have also received commendation and acclaim.
Dr. Averill and wife, Rose, have been married over 35 years and they raised two children. They are a team in business, had two radio shows and are currently both obtaining a master’s degree in theology.
Charity work is a lifestyle for the Averill’s who through the years, have founded, run, supported and volunteered at various ministries including Footprints Ministry, Pinellas Hope and Engaged Encounter to name a few. To promote mind, body and soul health, the Averill’s founded St. Francis Hope & Health Ministry, a 501c3 non-profit organization.
